Jochen Schweizer Arena Overview

Have you ever dreamt of flying like a bird? Imagine feeling the wind rush through your hair, the thrill of soaring through the air, and the freedom of being weightless. Well, now you can experience all of that and more at Jochen Schweizer Arena—the premier destination for adventure-seekers in Munich, Germany. One of the highlights of the arena is the indoor skydiving experience, which offers visitors a unique and exhilarating way to defy gravity.

The Wind Tunnel Project

The wind tunnel at Jochen Schweizer Arena was built in partnership with Airbus, a global leader in aircraft manufacturing. The dimensions of the flight chamber are impressive—it is 4.5 meters wide and 15 meters tall, providing ample space for flyers to practice their moves. The wind tunnel also boasts a 5.9-meter-tall, 360-degree glazing, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. The maximum wind speed in the tunnel can reach up to 285 km/h, which is more than enough to keep you airborne.

The Indoor Skydiving Experience

Indoor skydiving may sound intimidating, but with qualified instructors available in the wind tunnel, the experience is safe, easy, and fun. Children as young as 4 years old can join in on the fun, and the instructors ensure that they have an exciting and safe experience. First-time flyers receive thorough training before their flight, which includes all the necessary safety measures and proper flying techniques. The instructors are highly recommended due to their level of expertise!

Who Can Fly?

Pretty much anyone can try bodyflying at the indoor skydiving facility in Jochen Schweizer Arena, including people with physical disabilities. There are, however, a few things to consider:

  • Minimum age of 4
  • Under 18s must have an adult present to sign a waiver on their behalf
  • Anyone with an underlying heart, neck, or back condition should consult with a doctor before booking
  • Anyone who has previously suffered from a shoulder dislocation will not be allowed to take part
  • No previous experience required!

How Much is Indoor Skydiving at Jochen Schweizer Arena?

There's a package for everyone at the Jochem Schweizer Arena, with indoor skydiving packages starting at 69€ for 2 flights. Each flight lasts for approximately 60 seconds which may not sound like much, but this is more than the freefall time in a regular skydive! Rest assured, when you're learning to fly for the first time, 60 seconds feels like a lifetime!

Want to take it up a notch? Try the new Virtual Reality experience inside the tunnel! It's the closest thing to actually jumping out of a plane.
