iFLY Seattle Overview
iFLY Seattle (also known as iFLY Renton) is a 14-foot (4.3 m) recirculating tunnel located just south of Seattle, Washington, between the communities of Tukwila and Renton. In operation since 2011, the SkyVenture tunnel was originally built by private owners and acquired as part of the iFLY World franchise in 2012.
iFLY Seattle is the only indoor skydiving Seattle location and the only wind tunnel in Washington State. Along with the newer iFLY Portland, which opened in 2015, iFLY Seattle is also the only tunnel in the Pacific Northwest. This Generation 3 tunnel is older than most iFLY tunnels, but still provides an exhilarating experience for new flyers and is more than capable as a training tunnel for professional bodyflyers.
The atmosphere inside the tunnel is designed to feel like a real skydiving experience. The wind speed can be adjusted up to 210 mph (338 km/h), providing both a real challenge and a thrilling feeling of weightlessness. All the while, spectators can watch the action from the viewing gallery located in the tunnel's lobby.
The staff at iFLY Seattle is second to none and they provide a fun, friendly environment for both first-time flyers and experienced indoor skydiving athletes. They offer a variety of options for groups, companies and events like birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties. Their knowledgeable instructors and knowledgeable staff are always around to help out and ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.
The iFLY Seattle Experience
Indoor skydiving at iFLY Seattle provides a thrilling and safe experience for all guests. When checking in, flyers are provided with complete gear including a jumpsuit, helmet, earplugs, and goggles. After gearing up, they receive a briefing from a qualified iFLY instructor on flying positions and hand signals before being taken through to the tunnel.
The indoor skydiving experience itself lasts for 60 seconds per flight where participants reach heights of up to 40 feet, enjoying two to four flights depending on their chosen package.
After your flight you'll even receive a personalized indoor skydiving certificate!
Who Can Take Part?
Indoor skydiving is an activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and physical abilities. There are some are a few basic rules worth considering:
- Participants must be more than 3 years old and typically must weigh between 40-300 pounds.
- Anyone between 260 and 300 pounds should contact iFLY before making a reservation.
- People who suffer from certain medical conditions such as epilepsy, heart problems or back issues may not be eligible for indoor skydiving due to safety concerns.
- Pregnant women should not to take part in this activity due to safety reasons.
- Participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign a release of liability
Is Indoor Skydiving Safe?
Yes, indoor skydiving is a safe activity for people of all ages and skill levels. Each iFLY indoor skydiving facility has IBA-qualified professional instructors to coach and assist while employing advanced safety procedures. The wind tunnel itself features state-of-the-art technology from one of the most experienced wind tunnel manufacturers in the world, iFLY Tunnel Systems, formerly SkyVenture. The design features 4 propellers above the flight chamber, as opposed to older designs with the propellers below, and is one of the safest designs on the market.
Guests wear special suits with helmets to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the experience. Overall, these measures make indoor skydiving a safe activity with very little risk of injury.

We took our 9 year old grandson here yesterday. He loved it! We also loved it, because everyone was so positive and upbeat. We were lucky enough also to watch some Armed Forced paratroopers training, and their instructor ( a military one, and one from Ifly( bald head and red beard) was amazing! Just amazing to watch. I feel bad I don't have anyones name, but we came in contact with the admission girl and than three guys. All were great. They were so positive and energetic. We will definitely be coming back. I want to do this myself for my next birthday! Great experience due to the staff. An A+!

This is something my son and I have wanted to try for years. We finally did...now, we are addicted. We have numerous flights planned even though we don't live in the state!! Our next mom & son trip will include either a wind tunnel flight or jumping from a plane.

Horrible experience! 1) The website doesn't work proper. 2) very long check in process. 3) they do not stick the scheduled time frame, they were half an hour late. 4) the machines downstairs for checking out videos are falling off the wall. 5) They charged me twice as much as usually and said it is my fault. All this and you are only flying, with someone holding you the entire time, for one minute! Just jump out of a plane, it costs the same and you get a much longer ride.

ripoff: 1. In addition to the 100$ gift cards paid, My family member paid another 80$ to fly 2 kids!!! (100$ for two minutes????!!!! ) Oh & btw, another 60$ for helmet & fly high, things that should come with the 100$. Plus another for the videos which my family member never got! this is sooo overpriced!!! 2. They make appts, then say there's no room. The following week, they say there's room after your family member cancels party!!!! So disorganized. 3. Charged my family member 60$ without her consent! To top it all, these people will not correct their errors!

Absolutely thrilling! For our flight instructor we were matched up with Will; I am so glad we got him since he is very interactive and has such a great attitude and personality. We were able to do a lot and have really good supervised freedom and support from Will. I wish I would have done this sooner, looking forward to returning! Thank you so much!!

Went with a friend and our spouses. All 50+ years old. There were families there, kids from 5 years up to our age. SOOO fun! These people are very professional and the experience is unforgettable. You must go at LEAST once in your lifetime!
