History of iFLY San Diego Mission Valley
iFLY San Diego Mission Valley opened its doors in February 2016 just north of the I-8, east of the Mission Valley shopping center becoming part of iFLY's network of indoor skydiving centers spread across Asia, Europe, and North America. The facility features a Generation 7, 14-foot (4.3 m) recirculating wind tunnel manufactured by iFLY Tunnel Systems, formerly SkyVenture.
After Airborne San Diego closed in August 2017, iFLY San Diego became the only wind tunnel in the city proper, and the only place to go indoor skydiving in San Diego. Airborne was a one-of-a-kind tunnel complex, housing dual 14-foot flight chambers in a facility over 21,000 square feet in area, but closed after the venture went bankrupt. It was the first modern wind tunnel in the United States that was not a SkyVenture facility.
There is, however, another iFLY location only 35 miles to the north. This tunnel, formerly known as iFLY Oceanside, was recently rebranded as iFLY San Diego Oceanside (despite not technically being located in San Diego at all).

Indoor Skydiving Experience at iFLY San Diego
iFLY provides a special suit and helmet to ensure a comfortable and safe experience. Before flying, guests undergo a briefing and training to learn the necessary flying positions and hand signals. An experienced instructor is present to guide and enhance the experience. The flying session itself lasts for 60 seconds, and flyers can reach heights of up to 40 feet and enjoy two to four flights, depending on the package they choose.

What to Bring?

All you need to bring with you are some comfy clothes that aren't too loose-fitting so that you can fit your jumpsuit over the top. A pair of tightly fitting sneakers are recommended... you don't want one flying off inside the tunnel!
