Fööni (named for the Finnish word for ‘hairdryer’) is a 14-foot (4.3 m) ISG wind tunnel constructed in the heart of Helsinki, Finland that opened in September of 2018. The tunnel is part of the REDI shopping and entertainment center and was privately funded by Flight Factory Ltd, joining other activities in the area like indoor climbing, shopping, and cafes. It is the second wind tunnel in Finland, joining the 14-foot (4.3 m) AERODIUM tunnel Aeronautica Arena in Pyhtää.

The REDI shopping area is connected via a subway that runs through the third floor of the mall, and Fööni is only a short walk from the subway stop. The tunnel features a standalone aviation-themed cafe and bar, entirely open to the general public and within full view of the tunnel, affording patrons a unique opportunity to watch bodyflight in action. Decorations include wing fuel tanks from a vampire jet fighter, a glider hanging from the roof, an airplane-lookalike bar desk, and more. To learn more about Fööni, check out our Tunnel Talk piece where we take a closer look at the tunnel and speak with co-owner and founder, Mauri Väistö.
