Vegas Indoor Skydiving Hosts Tunnel Jam 2016
On March 10th, 2016 Vegas Indoor Skydiving hosted their first ever competition: Tunnel Jam 2016. This event celebrated 35 years of indoor skydiving in the USA with best routine and best showcases. The competition featured 11 competitors, two divisions and more than $5,000 in cash prizes.
Vegas Indoor Skydiving partnered with Three Square Food Bank in the name of hunger relief. Spectators donated one bag of non-perishable food items in order to watch the competition from the gallery. In total the jam raised 1,136 pounds of food for families in need.
The 11 competitors flew in two divisions pro & amateur for titles in both best trick and best routine. A guest judge panel included Chris Kael, former VIS instructor and member of heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch, BMX pro Richardo Laguna, legend Ray Kubiak and original VIS instructor Jimmy Redman. Final results are as follows:
- Rob Grills (Best Routine – Pro Division)
- Levi Bunnell (Best Trick – Pro Division)
- Zack Russell (Best Routine – Amateur Division)
“Tunnel Jam 2016 was a success on so many levels and we can’t thank everyone enough for being involved with us on this,” said Dave McMahan, Business Development at Vegas Indoor Skydiving. “We look forward to hosting Tunnel Jam 2017 and feeding even more hungry families across the Las Vegas valley, while putting on one of the most unique competitions this town has ever seen!”
