Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving NC Overview

Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving in Fayetteville, North Carolina offers the perfect solution for both! With its state-of-the-art indoor skydiving wind tunnel, Paraclete XP provides a safe and exhilarating experience for thrill-seekers and professional skydivers alike. Read on to discover why Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving should be your next adventure destination.
Paraclete XP History and Facilities
Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving is a recirculating wind tunnel that opened in 2008. The massive, 16.4-foot (5 m) diameter, 56-feet-tall flight chamber is the largest and arguably the most powerful wind tunnel in the entire United States. Four fans working to put out a combined 2,164 hp power the facility, making it possible for skydivers to experience freefall without ever leaving the ground.
The tunnel was the first 16-foot wind tunnel in the country and the only indoor skydiving facility in North Carolina for a long time. But there's more to Paraclete XP than just indoor skydiving. The facility also offers traditional skydiving dropzone services, including three military-surveyed dropzones and a fleet of six turboprop aircraft.
Although this indoor skydiving tunnel is located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, it is currently the closest site for indoor skydiving to the Raleigh-Durham area, along with any destination along the Carolina coast. (So if you’re on spring break and looking for indoor skydiving in Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, or anywhere else in the eastern Carolinas, Paraclete XP is your best bet.)
Paraclete XP is a multi-faceted company. In addition to operating the wind tunnel, which is technically located in Raeford, just outside of Fayetteville, they run a traditional skydiving dropzone (Skydive Paraclete XP), three military-surveyed dropzones, and lease a fleet of six turboprop aircraft. Paraclete skydiving offerings also include a variety of military free-fall (MFF) training courses, such as static line training, canopy control courses, Jumpmaster courses, HAHO/HALO Jumps, and Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) instructor training.
Military Training Courses
Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving takes pride in being the go-to destination for military free-fall (MFF) training courses. These courses are designed to provide military personnel with the necessary training to execute military parachute operations. Courses include static line training, canopy control courses, Jumpmaster courses, and HALO/HALO Jumps. The facility also offers an Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) instructor training course for those who aspire to become skydiving instructors.
Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving Experience
Indoor skydiving is an incredibly thrilling experience that simulates the sensation of a 120mph freefall without the need for an airplane. Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving offers different packages depending on a person's experience level ranging from first-time flyers to frequent flyers. Regardless of the package you choose, you'll be provided with all the necessary gear and a professional instructor to guide you through every step of the way.
After a briefing with your qualified instructor where you'll go through all the basics of bodyflight and learn some basic hand signals for communication inside the tunnel, it will be time to gear up and head through to the tunnel.
You'll step into the tunnel with the assistance of your instructor and you'll instantly feel the incredible sensation of weightlessness.
Flights last for approximately 60 seconds – more than the freefall time in a regular skydive. Packages for first-timers start with 2 flights for $64 and go all the way up to 10 flights if you get a family package.
Return flyers can get discounted rates for bulk tunnel time. 60 minutes of time currently costs $1250.

I took my 19-year-old son to see what it would feel like flying indoors compared to skydiving from a plane, which I loved. I also wanted my son to be able to do this in a safe environment to make his nervous dad happy. It's been on our bucket lists for years.
This place is the real deal. Teams of professionals were practicing formats in between first flyers (me being one of them). Our instructor (David) was professional, friendly, made us feel comfortable, made sure we were safe and that we had a great experience. The wind tunnel is wider than other places and is 50 ft high so you have more room to play and to settle into the feel of the wind. It was a 4-hour total drive, so I hoped it would be worth it. It was. I highly recommend choosing this location. It's not about the money for them...it's about the passion of sharing an experience outside our daily so-called boxes with others in a safe and fun environment. Thanks everyone! I can finally cross this one off of my bucket list with a smile on my face!
With Gratitude,
Christine and son Evan.

I flew several hours at XP and loved the tunnel! The staff was great, the tunnel is run very well and the building has lots of space to hang out and debreif. The only complaint was the wind got choppy at high wind speeds.
